The previous International Week at UrFU, "Building the Bridge between Сontinents", was opened by the plenary session named “Together to Global Academia”, where representatives of UrFU, consulates and embassies of foreign states in Ekaterinburg and the guests of the International Week made some short welcoming addresses and discussed the prospects of international collaboration between universities.

In the context of the university excursion our guests visited SEC UrFU (University Scientific-Educational Center "Nanotechnology and nanomaterials" (UrFU)). They observed the running of nano-microscope, which can show each isolated atom of every studied object. In addition, the guests saw and touched specimens of different meteorites (including the famous Chelyabinsk meteor). Then the delegation went to EPC UrFU (Experimental-productive combine). EPC UrFU is an organization of public utility, which provides more than 30 thousand inhabitants of microdistrict with heat energy and electric power.
After that, the guests visited Innovative structure of Ural Federal University. They were told about features of the unit and shown the newest 3D printers.
At the end of the excursion, our guests visited Ural Collective Service Center "Modern nanotechnology" of Ural Federal University (UCSC MN UrFU). One of the main missions of the Center joining physicists, chemists and biologists is the solution of a great number of research problems for teachers and scientists of UrFU, institutes of higher education of Ekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region, institutes of Ural branch of Russian Academy of Sciences. Moreover, on the contract basis, the Center tries to solve some problems for enterprises of the Sverdlovsk region, which have high-tech industry and prepare specialists in the nano-technological field.
The International Education Exhibition took place during the 2nd International Week at Ural Federal University.
More than 600 persons visited the Exhibition of International Educational Programs. The representatives of 12 countries from all over the world - Germany, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Poland, China, Mexico, Italy, Thailand - presented their universities, programs for foreign students and conditions of learning.
Teachers, students and their parents were actively interested in student exchange programs and the possibility to study abroad.
The third day of the International Week was devoted to round table discussions. During the official opening ceremony UrFU Rector, Victor Koksharov, signed collaboration agreements with Universidad Internacional (Mexico) and JSC “Kyrgyzaltyn” (the Kyrgyz Republic).
Afterwards the guests of the International Week and the representatives of UrFU staff discussed the most relevant topics of the internationalization of higher education within three discussion tracks:
During the last day of the International Week, our guests had the chance to acquaint themselves with Ekaterinburg, it's history and remarkable sights. Our international attendees, accompanied by international students of UrFU, saw the center of the city and learned about its almost 300-years history, visited the border of Europe and Asia located 15 km outside the city and marveled at the private collection of arms and military equipment, which is considered the biggest in Russia, in the neighbouring town of V. Pyshma.
